Chapmanville 6, Winfield 5: Will Kirkendall's bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the fifth inning proved to be the game winner, as Chapmanville knocked off Class AA No. 5 Winfield Tuesday night at Ted Ellis Field.
Trailing 5-4 entering the fifth inning, Chapmanville tied the game on Jacob Topping's single and took the lead on Kirkendall's two-out walk.
Evan Plumley had four hits to lead Chapmanville at the plate. Talan Thompson and Topping each had two hits and one RBI while Tyson Thompson had a double and two RBIs and Kirkendall had one hit and an RBI for the Tigers.
Brett Bumgarner had two hits and drove in two runs for Winfield and Bray Boggs and Kaleb Henson each had one hit and one RBI for the Generals.
Jon Alderman suffered the loss for Winfield after allowing three runs on five hits in three innings in relief for the Generals.
Ian Plumley picked up the win for Chapmanville. Plumley tossed 3 1/3 innings of relief allowing no runs on four hits with two strikeouts and one walk.
Winfield falls to 13-5 and will host Wayne on Thursday.
Chapmanville improved to 8-6 with the win and will travel to Scott on Wednesday.
McClancy (NY) 11, Logan 1 (6 innings): The Crusaders plated seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Logan Tuesday afternoon in the Mingo Bay Classic at Myrtle Beach.
Dawson Maynard had three hits including a double and scored Logan's lone run of the afternoon. Garrett Williamson had one RBI for the Wildcats who got two hits from Aiden Slack and one hit each from Cole Blankenship, Jared Burnette and Jake Ramey.
Kopoulos had three hits and drove in four runs for McClancy. Menechella drove in two runs and N. Rodriguez drove one run for the Crusaders. Gomez had two hits and drove in one run and Reyes and W. Rodriguez each had a hit and one RBI.
Logan, who has lost three of its last four games, fell to 11-3 with the loss and will play Georgetown (SC) Wednesday afternoon.
Lakewood (SC) 13, Man 9: Lakewood jumped out to a 13-1 lead after three innings and held a late Man rally to defeat the Hillbillies in the Mingo Bay Classic Tuesday night in Myrtle Beach.
Preston Blankenship had three hits and drove in three runs for the Hillbillies while Caleb Vance had two hits and two RBIs. Colton Miller had two hits and one RBI while Caleb Blevins had one hit and one RBI and Brady Hall-Montgomery drove in one run for Man.
Fitzpatrick had two hits and three RBIs while Bryant had a pair of hits and drove in one run and Balls had one hit and one RBI for the Gators.
Man drops to 11-5 and will play Princeton Wednesday morning.
