Hillbillies rally from 15 down, sink Tide, 51-49

MAN The Hillbillies trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half Monday night at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse and didn’t lead until the fourth quarter.
Despite the adversity, Man overcame the deficit to defeat the Sherman Tide, 51-49, for its fifth win of the season.
Trailing 16-1 in the first quarter and 30-15 in the second, Man chipped away at the deficit, cutting the deficit to 10 at halftime and trailed by three after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, Trey Ward’s 3-pointer gave Man its first lead of the contest, and Jake Endicott’s basket with under two minutes to play to put Man ahead for good as the Hillbillies held off the Tide in the final minute.
Endicott finished with 21 points and Ward scored 15 for Man.
Sherman’s Andrew Simpson led all scorers with 22 points. Bryce Mills had eight, Trey Lester and Luke Tagliente each had seven and Logan Baldwin five for the Tide, who fell to 9-8 with the loss.
Bryson Wingler had eight points off the bench, Noah Frazier finished with six and Blake Hicks one for the Hillbillies, who improved to 5-11 with the win.
The Hillbillies return to action Friday night on the road at Richwood and return home Tuesday night against Class A No. 3 Tug Valley.
