Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced Monday his son Will has tested positive for COVID-19 and is generally asymptomatic. The Governor’s son is fully vaccinated and recently received a booster shot. Beshear and the rest of the Kentucky’s first family have tested negative.
Kentucky also experienced a new record high week for infections for the week ending Sunday, January 23. The state reported 81,473 new infections last week and the total is near nine thousand cases more than the previous record reported a week earlier.
Kentucky’s current hospitalizations amount to 2,326 patients with 440 of patients requiring Intensive care treatment and 257 patients requiring ventilators to breathe.
