MAN   Playing its third game in as many days, Man couldn't overcome a sluggish shooting night from the field and the free throw line in a 50-36 loss Friday night to Liberty (Raleigh) at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Lady Hillbillies snapped a seven-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 34-7 win over Van. Man was defeated by Tolsia Thursday night before falling to the Lady Raiders Friday night.

Man led 9-5 early in the first quarter before Liberty closed the gap to two, 9-7, after one quarter. The Lady Raiders scored the first 12 points of the second quarter and led 19-9 before Man closed the first half on an 11-3 run to pull within two, 22-20, at halftime.

Megan McCoy tied the game at 22 with her basket to start the third quarter, but the Lady Raiders outscored the Lady Hillbillies, 18-6, over the remainder of the third quarter to take a 40-28 after three quarters.

The lead reached 17 points, and Man never got any closer than 14 the rest of the way.

Man knocked down 14 field goals, including one 3-pointer, but many of the made field goals were short range jumpers. Man (2-9) was also 7-of-22 from the free throw line and committed 24 turnovers.

Liberty made 19 field goals, including four 3-pointers, and was 8-of-20 from the free throw line and committed 30 turnovers.

Chloe McGhee led the Lady Raiders with 15 points and Kirsten Miller scored 11.

After an 0-4 start to the season, the Lady Raiders have won three of their last five to improve to 3-6 and will host Independence Tuesday night.

McCoy scored a game-high 21 points to lead Man, who will be back in action Friday night when they host Richwood.
