NEWTOWN Addie Smith scored 26 points and hit eight 3-pointers to lead Mingo Central past Man 94-25 Thursday night on Miner Mountain.
Mingo Central, ranked third in the preseason girls basketball Class AA poll, led Man 18-15 following a 3 from the Lady Hillbillies Jenna Baisden with 1:20 to play in the opening quarter.
Little did Man know; it would be the Lady Hillbillies last points in a scoring drought that spanned 13:35 and saw Mingo Central outscore them 37-0.
Baisden, who led Man with 15 points, hit a jumper with 3:45 remaining in the third quarter to end the drought.
Daleney Grimmett had 14 points and Gianna Adkins finished with 11 points for Mingo Central, who improved to 6-0 with the win.
Kerissa Bradford had nine, Jayden Bailey eight, Evan Munroe seven, Madison Estepp and Bella Hall each had six points, Kaeli Goble and Zeriya Mayhorn finished with two points each and Jenna Bradford had one for the Lady Miners.
Megan McCoy had seven points, Taylor Wheatley scored two and Emilee Deel one point for the Lady Hillbillies.
Mingo Central returns to action December 29 against James Monroe.
Man (0-4) will look for its first victory of the season when they host Sherman on January 3.
