LOGAN Logan rallied for a 5-4 win over Wayne on Senior Night Wednesday evening at Bea Orr Field.

Wayne took a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth when Maddy Plybon scored on a wild pitch, but the Lady Pioneers committed two errors in the bottom of the sixth that allowed Logan to regain the lead.

Chloe Bryant reached on a second Wayne error that allowed Hannah Maynard and Lacy Curry to score giving Logan a 4-3 lead.

Bryant later scored on Makenna Ooten’s single to give Logan a 5-3 lead after six innings.

Ooten’s run scoring single would prove to be an important insurance run as Wayne pushed across a run in the seventh inning when Jaylynn Hodge reached on a bunt single allowing Maddie Eastwood to score cutting Logan’s lead to 5-4.

Bryant got Plybon to fly out to first baseman Isabella Propst to secure the win for the Lady Wildcats.

Bryant allowed four runs on four hits in seven innings and struck out eight, walked two and hit one batter to earn the win in the circle.

Kaliah Merritt suffered the loss for Wayne after allowing five runs, only one earned, on three hits while striking out eight and walking three in six innings.

Taylor Noe scored on Harlee Quick’s groundout to give Logan a 1-0 lead after three innings.

The lead would be short lived as Wayne plated two runs in the fourth inning. Haley Bays doubled to score Merrit to tie it at 1-1 and Bays scored on an error to give Wayne a 2-1 lead after four innings.

Logan tied it in the fifth when Ooten scored on an error.

Logan registered just three hits as Ooten and Quick each had one hit and one RBI while Noe had one hit and Bryant two RBIs for the Lady Wildcats.

Bays and Hodge each had one hit and one RBI for Wayne, who got one hit each from Merritt and Watts.

Logan improves to 11-13 on the year and will travel to Winfield Friday evening.
