Lady Wildcats defeat Lady Skyhawks, fall to Lady Indians

LOGAN Six different hitters in the Logan lineup registered at least two hits as the Lady Wildcats defeated the Scott Lady Skyhawks 12-3 Monday evening at Bea Orr Field.


Taylor Noe, Emma Elkins and Emilee Mullis each had three hits while Chloe Bryant, Kallie Coleman and Lacy Curry each had two hits for Logan, who had 17 total hits in the six-inning mercy rule victory.


Makenna Ooten and Isabella Propst each had a hit as Logan avenged a 7-1 loss to Scott on March 24 at Madison.


Scott jumped out an early 1-0 lead with a run in the first inning, but Logan plated three runs in the first and two more in the second to lead 5-1 after two innings.


The Lady Skyhawks closed the gap to 5-2 with a run in the third before the Lady Wildcats plated three runs in the fourth and led 8-2 after four innings.


Scott scored its final run of the contest in the fifth inning and Logan plated two runs in the fifth and sixth inning to end the contest.


Jayden Elkins had two hits and one RBI and Daillian Adkins and Tatum Halley each had one hit and one RBI for Scott. Elkins and Halley each had a solo home run and Adkins added a double while Cambri Barker, Kayleigh Ellis and Natalie Green each had one hit for the Lady Skyhawks.


Bryant picked up the win in the circle for Logan after allowing three runs on seven hits in six innings of work. She struck out four and walked four.


Halley suffered the loss after allowing seven runs on nine hits in three innings. She struck out three and walked two before being relieved by Barker. Barker allowed five runs on eight hits in 2 2/3 innings. Barker struck out four and walked one.


SISSONVILLE 3, LOGAN 1


LOGAN Madison Legg tossed a two-hitter as Sissonville defeated Logan 3-1 in a game that was called in the top of the fifth inning due to weather Tuesday evening at Bea Orr Field.


Legg allowed one run, struck out five and walked one in four innings.


Harlee Quick pitched well for Logan but suffered the loss after allowing three runs on 10 hits, walking one and striking out one in four innings.


Alex Asbury, Kya Hamilton and Kenzie Raines each had two hits for Sissonville and Gracelyn Hill, Legg, Taylor Oxley and Anna Sobilt each had one hit for the Lady Indians.


Quick had a triple and Lacy Curry a single for Logan.
