Logan County Confirmed 12 New Cases of Virus

As of 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, 12 new cases of the virus have been confirmed through laboratory testing.

Health Department Director Steve Browning said testing on Thursday generated 137 samples to be tested for the virus.

According to Browning, one employee of the Logan County Board of Education has tested positive for COVID-19. Last night, during the board of education meeting, school administrators reported to board members a total of 24 employees are in quarantine out of approximately 800 individuals employed. Eleven employees entered quarantine on Thursday.

County health departments have been directed to conduct weekly community tests if the county is gold, orange or red. Browning said the health department is currently working to establish a permanent site for testing. He said that site should be ready to announce on Monday.

Logan County has 87 active cases of the virus, 454 recoveries, and 39 fatalities for a cumulative total of 580 cases of coronavirus.

Twenty-four people are hospitalized.

Thirty-one people have been confirmed positive for the virus over the last week.
