LOGAN Logan County residents of all ages will have opportunities to read, learn, and explore this summer as local libraries join a nationwide summer reading program designed to spark curiosity and discovery.
The 2026 summer reading program comes from the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), a national organization that partners with libraries across the country to support summer reading efforts for children, teens, and adults. This year’s program theme, “Unearth a Story,” encourages participants to explore history, science, and discovery through reading and participating in events and activities.
In collaboration with CSLP, Logan Area Public Library, Chapmanville Public Library and Buffalo Creek Memorial Library are each offering a lineup of summer events for the community.

For adults, the library is introducing “Adventure Cards,” where participants complete reading and activity challenges such as exploring new genres or visiting local history sites. The program runs through Friday, July 31, and each completed section earns an entry into a drawing for a $50 cash prize.
