Logan Little League eliminated by Georgia in Southeast Region tournament

WARNER ROBBINS, Ga. The Logan Little League Softball All-Stars
were eliminated from the Southeast Region Tournament Saturday morning
after a 4-2 loss to Warner Robbins Little League at Little League Southeast
Park.
Logan opened with a 11-0 four inning loss to South Carolina state champion,
Taylors Little League, Friday morning.
Warner Robbins, which lost to Lake Mary, Florida to open the Southeast
Region Tournament, defeated York County, Virginia and will face South
Carolina at 1 p.m. Monday afternoon in an elimination contest.
Lake Mary and North Carolina state champion, Pitt County Little League, meet
Monday morning at 10 a.m. in the winner’s bracket with a spot in
Wednesday’s Southeast Region championship awaiting the winner.
Monday’s Warner Robbins-Taylors winner will face the loser of Lake Mary-Pitt
County on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the winner advancing to Wednesday’s
championship.
Georgia 4, West Virginia 2
Kara Gautney allowed one hit in four innings and Georgia built a 4-0 lead after
three innings and held off a late West Virginia rally Saturday morning to
remain alive in the Little League Southeast Region Softball Tournament.
Laynia Gautney drove in two runs, Kara Gautney and Ella Walters each had
one RBI and Camryn Sisa had two hits and scored two runs for host Warner
Robbins.
Trailing 4-0, Maryona Clemens got Logan on the board with an RBI groundout
to score Maecee Pruitt and Ashanti Hairston scored on a wild pitch to trim the
deficit to 4-2.
Hitless through four innings, Paislee Hall singled leading off the fifth ending
Kara Gautney’s no-hit bid. Alivia Kish followed with a walk ending Gautney’s
morning in the circle as Warner Robbins turned to Hayden Overcash in relief.
Overcash would induce a groundout and strike out two Logan hitters to end
the fifth.
After a strikeout and groundout to start the sixth. Pruitt reached on an error to
bring the tying run to the plate, but Overcash got Hairston to groundout to
eliminate Logan.
Overcash struck out three and allowed no hits in two innings to earn the save.
Kish allowed four runs on five hits and struck out two in 2 1/3 innings for
Logan. Ryah Boyd allowed two hits, walked two and struck out one in 2 2/3
innings of relief.
Makenzie White and Kylie Emerson each had one hit for Warner Robbins.
South Carolina 11, West Virginia 0
South Carolina scored seven unearned runs in the first inning on its way to an
11-0 four-inning victory over the Logan Little League.
Brynn Parks pitched a complete game one-hit shutout striking out one and
walking two for South Carolina.
Ellis Hodge had two hits including a triple and drove in four runs while Lillian
Nicks had two hits, drove in two runs and scored twice and Drew Alston had a
two-run triple for Taylors Little League.
Down to its last out, Hairston tripled with two outs in the fourth inning to break
up Parks no-hit bid.
Harlea Abraham allowed 11 runs – one earned – on eight hits with one
strikeout and two walks in three innings pitched for Logan. Kish tossed one
hitless inning walking one.
Ava Ahmed had one hit and scored two runs and Riley Bigler and Callie
Hillock each had one hit for South Carolina.
