Logan Little League set to host West Virginia Little League Softball State Tournament

LOGAN In conjunction with the West Virginia District 2 Little League and Softball, Logan Little League will host the 2026 West Virginia Little League Softball State Tournament.
The tournament, which includes 11 teams, seven districts and is divided into two brackets, Herd and Mountaineer, will be played on two fields at the Chief Logan Recreational Center beginning Friday.
In the Mountaineer Bracket, District 1 runner-up Huntington Little League and District 3 champion Capital Midwestern Little League open the state tournament at 6:00 p.m. on Field 1.
Also, in the Mountaineer Bracket, District 2 runner-up Man Little League and District 4 champion Bluefield Little League, who will be making its Little League State Softball Tournament debut, are scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. first pitch.
At 6:00 p.m., District 2 champion and host Logan Little League will take on District 3 runner-up Boone Northern on Field 2 in the Herd Bracket.
At 8:00 p.m., District 1 champion Lincoln County Little League and District 8 champion Cherry River Little League, a league made up of girls from Cherry River, Craigsville and Pocahontas Little Leagues, will meet in the second Herd bracket game.
District 4 runner-up Trap Hill Little League and District 6 champion Hedgesville Little League received byes in the Herd Bracket while District 6 runner-up Moorefield Little League received a bye in the Mountaineer bracket.
Trap Hill will play the winner of Friday’s Boone Northern-Logan game on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. on Field 1. Following that game, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Hedgesville will play the winner of Cherry River and Lincoln County.
Moorefield will play the winner of Capital Midwestern and Huntington at 6:00 p.m. on Field 2.
Friday’s Bluefield and Man winner will move into the Mountaineer Bracket championship game at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday while the loser will play the loser of Capital Midwestern and Huntington in an elimination game on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. on Field 2.
The tournament is slated to conclude on Wednesday with the winner advancing to the Little League Southeast Regional in Warner Robins, Georgia on July 15.
