Logan Little League wins state softball tournament,advance to Little League Southeast Region

LOGAN Harlea Abraham tossed a four-hitter with eight strikeouts and Logan
Little League won its second state championship in four years with a 5-0 win
over the Moorefield Little League Wednesday evening at the Chief Logan
Recreational Center.
Logan clinches a spot in the Little League Southeast Regional Tournament
where they’ll play South Carolina state champion Northwood Little League on
July 17 at 10 a.m. at Little League Southeast Park in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Abraham supplied Logan with all the offense it would need with a first inning
squeeze bunt to score Lillie Podunavac.
Logan added three runs in the second inning with a pair of two out hits and
two Moorefield errors. Jazz Tolliver started the scoring with an infield single to
score Ava Green to make it 2-0. Evelyn Adkins followed with a bunt single that
was misplayed by the catcher allowing Adkins and Tolliver to score making it
4-0.
Maecee Pruitt singled in the fifth to score Adkins giving Logan a 5-0 lead.
Naomi Markwood allowed five runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and one
walk in five innings for Moorefield. Markwood also had two of Moorefield’s four
hits. Avelyn Bean and Reagan Funk each had one hit.
Green and Pruitt each had two hits for Logan. Green stole two bases and
scored one run for the victorious Logan Little League.
Adkins had one hit and scored two runs, Podunavac had one hit, drove in a
run and scored once run. Tolliver had one hit to go along with one RBI and
one run and Ryah Boyd and Liv Kish each had one hit.
