LOGAN A Logan man was arrested on Saturday, October 15 on charges of destruction of property, assault, and brandishing a deadly weapon.

According to the criminal complaint filed by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, the victim claims to have been at a residence in the Stollings area to work on a vehicle. The homeowner’s ex-boyfriend, 41-year-old Timothy Eugene Hackney, allegedly arrived on scene wielding a railroad spike and threatened the victim with it. The victim said during the altercation, Hackney punctured all four of his truck’s tires then fled into the back alley.

At this time, Deputy C.L. Carter arrived in response to a destruction of property complaint to find Hackney pacing back and forth in the middle of the roadway. Hackney was then detained and informed officers of the weapon he used during the incident. However, the railroad spike could not be found.

Hackney’s bond was set at $3,000 cash surety.
