MUDFORK Charges have been upgraded to murder against a Logan man .
Steven Duty now faces first-degree murder in the death of Kelly Hampton.
On Saturday, August fourteenth Kelly Hampton was severely beaten at her Mudfork residence and Duty was charged with malicious wounding.
Hampton later died from her injuries.
Deputies allege her injuries were sustained from an attack with a hammer.
The charges were changed following the release of the medical examiner’s report. Hampton’s death was ruled a homicide, according to the report.
