LOGAN The Logan Post Office will hold a grand re-opening ceremony and open house on Thursday, October 2nd at 10:00 a.m. A spokesperson for U S Postal Service says the ceremony will be held at the post office on Hudgins Street.

The post office closed earlier this year due to unsafe conditions. Major flooding across the region back in February caused an overflow of sewage in the more than 100-year-old building. During the closure, postal operations were moved temporarily to the Stollings Post Office.

Postal officials, including Kentucky-West Virginia District Manager Derek Strissel and Acting Manager of Post Office Operations Tyler Jackson, will speak at the ceremony. The postal service has invited the public to attend and will be offering some light refreshments during the event.

Following its reopening next week, the Logan Post Office will resume regular retail hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
