Main Island Creek firefighters answer call on utility lines

WVOW News

OMAR The Main Island Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded to two incidents over night Sunday, January 15.

Units were dispatched to Cow Creek Mountain for low hanging utility lines. Fire crews marked the low lines for easier visibility and requested the utility company to follow up.

First responders were again dispatched, this time to Tanner Drive in Omar for arching power lines. Upon arrival, fire crews found an aluminum ladder caught in secondary service electric lines from an apparent attempt to steal copper wire.
