Man Defeated Buffalo Fri. Night, 20-6

In high school football action, Man evened their record to 3-3 on the year, as they knocked off Buffalo Friday night at George A. Queen Memorial Field. The Hillbillies topped the Bison 20-6.

The Hillbillies squandered two scoring opportunities inside the 10-yard line on a bad snap that resulted in a lost fumble, and a missed field goal. Man made up for it with three interceptions on the evening, two coming from Jacob Walls, and the other from Justin Grimmett to shut out the Bison offense.

The Hillbillies were able to strike first with 9:38 remaining in the second quarter when Israel Canterbury connected with Jeremiah Harless for an eighteen yard touchdown pass to give Man a 6-0 lead. Buffalo was able to put up their only points of the game with 4:51 left in the half when they blocked a Man punt and raced twelve yards the other way into the end zone to tie the game at 6-6.

The Hillbillies were able to regain the lead just before halftime on their following drive. Jordan Adams ran in from five yards out to give Man a 12-6 halftime lead.

After a scoreless third quarter, Man put the game out of reach with 9:41 left in the fourth quarter when offensive lineman Jayden Brown came in at quarterback on fourth and inches and pushed the pile five yards into the end zone to give the Hillbillies complete command, and ended a two-game losing streak for Man.

The Hillbillies will next travel to Independence to take on the Patriots next Friday night.
