Man rescued from mountainside fall in Logan

ETHEL A man was injured and required rescuing after fall in mountains of Logan County.


City of Logan Fire Department received a call of a 72-year-old man’s fall while hunting deer sheds in the mountains along Route 17 near Ethel the afternoon of Monday, February 7.


According to firefighters on the scene, the man lost his footing and fell approximately twenty feet down the mountainside. The man was alone at the time, but able to call 911.


As reported by 13News, the man was located about half a mile from the roadway and about 500 meters from the top.


The man reportedly suffered head injuries, possibly injured his neck and was flown to a Huntington area hospital.
