W.Va. Governor Jim Justice announced Friday masks are no longer required for people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The lifting of the face covering mandate for fully vaccinated individuals is in line with new guidance released this week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
“Our face covering requirement does not apply to you if you are fully vaccinated,” Justice said.
According to the new guidance from the CDC, fully vaccinated people may resume activities without wearing a mask or distancing except where required by regulation. The exception also extends to businesses and workplaces that still require a facial covering.
The mask mandate in W.Va. is still set to end June 20.
