LOGAN A Michigan man and a Charleston woman arrested in Logan County during the execution of a drug search warrant.
The US 119 Task Force, assisted by the Drug Enforcement Agency and the West Virginia State Police served a search warrant on a Circle Drive residence at Justice Addition Friday. Inside the residence, police found 28-year-old Melvin Anthony Taylor III of Genesee, MI and nineteen-year-old Jazmyn Sierra Wilkerson, of Charleston, West Virginia.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate Court on Friday, law enforcement says the search of the residence yielded a large distribution amount of suspected fentanyl underneath the living room coffee table and in the kitchen area. Approximately 350 grams of fentanyl was discovered. Police also turned up around seventy grams of marijuana and located two pistols.
The duo was arrested. Melvin Taylor was charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver fentanyl and conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver marijuana and prohibited person with a firearm. Bond was set at 100-thousand dollars cash only.
Wilkerson was charged with two charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver fentanyl and marijuana. Her bond was set 20-thousand dollars cash only.
Both are still in custody at the southwestern regional jail at Holden.
