WHITMAN A Logan County student is recovering after a traffic incident this morning at Whitman
Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a 13-year-old student struck by a vehicle at the mouth of Whitman Creek Road this morning just before seven o’clock.
According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, the school bus flashing yellow lights were activated, but the stop sign and red light were not deployed by the time the juvenile was crossing the road.
The child was transported to Logan Regional Medical Center and reportedly in stable condition.
Deputies say the driver has been identified as 47-year-old Geoffrey Saunders of Logan. Police say Saunders remained on scene following the incident cooperated fully with investigators.
Police have requested the dash-cam video from Logan County Schools as the crash is still under investigation.
