Monday Softball Roundup: Chapmanville shutouts Poca in five, Logan victorious over Nitro

CHAPMANVILLE LaTosha Perry had her best outing of the season, pitching a four-hit shutout to lead Chapmanville to a 14-0 five inning mercy rule victory over Poca Monday evening at Ronnie "Mule" Ooten Field.


Perry walked three and struck out two in five innings while Hannah Miller was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead a 13-hit Lady Tiger attack.


Erica Sigmon was 2-for-3 with a home run, one RBI and two runs scored and Eva Altizer and Perry each went 2-for-3 and drove in a run. Brooke Christian and Emma Muncy each had one hit and a pair of runs batted in for Chapmanville (10-4).


Kendra Dunbar was 2-for-2 with a double and Klaire LeRose and Lindzie Runions each had one hit for the Dots.


Dunbar allowed 14 runs - eight earned - on 13 hits while striking out one and walking one for Poca (7-11).


Laken Parks had a double and one RBI and Erin Adkins had one hit for Chapmanville.


Logan 7, Nitro 1

Myleigh Adkins tossed a one-hit complete game as third-ranked Logan defeated Nitro 7-1 Monday evening at Bea Orr Field.


Adkins took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a one-out solo home run to Savannah Cantley for Nitro's lone hit. Adkins struck out 11 and walked four.


Taylor Noe had three hits including a double and a home run to go along with two RBIs and three runs scored. Ashlin Brumfield and Emilee Mullins each had one hit while Addi Brumfield, Lacy Curry and Isabella Propst had one hit apiece and Harlee Quick drove in a run for Logan (13-5).


Nitro starting pitcher Carli Mathes allowed seven runs on eight hits while walking five and striking out five in six innings in the circle.
