Myleigh Adkins, Ashlin Brumfield lead Lady Wildcats over St. Vincent/St. Mary 4-2

KINGSTON, Tenn.   Myleigh Adkins struck out 14 and Ashlin Brumfield drove in three runs to lead Class AA No. 1 Logan a 4-2 win over Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Wednesday afternoon in the Ripken Experience at Isotopes Park.


Adkins struck out the side in the fifth and sixth innings and struck out two batters each in the second and third innings.


Adkins (13-0) allowed two runs on eight hits and walked two in seven innings. In three games at the Ripken Experience, Adkins struck out 47 batters including 20 in a 10-inning win over St. Vincent/St. Mary Tuesday afternoon.


St. Vincent/St. Mary pitcher Kate Krabill (3-3) allowed four runs and nine hits with five walks and five strikeouts in seven innings.


Brumfield tripled in the first to score courtesy runner Kennedy Brewer and scored on Lauren Adkins run scoring single to give Logan (17-4) a 2-0 lead before the Fighting Irish (6-8) scored on an error in the bottom of the first to cut the deficit to 2-1.


Brumfield added a two-run single in the fourth to score Brewer and Lacy Curry giving the Lady Wildcats a 4-1 lead. Krabill added an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to trim the Fighting Irish deficit to 4-2.


Kendall Batchik, Krabill and Alli Zajac each had two hits for St. Vincent/St. Mary.


Lauren Adkins and Brumfield had two hits each and Myleigh Adkins, Curry, Emilee Mullins, Melody Rozzell and Addison Starr had one hit each for the Lady Wildcats.
