Myleigh Adkins strikes out 12 in Lady Wildcats 4-3 win over Roane County (Tennessee) in Cal Ripken Experience

KINGSTON, Tenn. Myleigh Adkins struck out 12 over five innings Monday evening and Class AA No. 1 Logan defeated Roane County (Tennessee) 4-3 in the Ripken Experience at Isotopes Park.
Adkins allowed three runs - one earned - on three hits and hit one batter.
Adkins was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and improved her record to 11-0 in the circle.
Lacy Curry had two hits including an inside the park home run, drove in one run and scored twice for Logan, who also got one hit and two RBIs from Emilee Mullins and one hit and one RBI from Ashlin Brumfield.
Logan (14-4) jumped out to a 3-0 lead with two runs in the first and one more in the third. Brumfield singled to score Curry in the first and Myleigh Adkins scored on Mullins' sacrifice bunt in the first. In the third inning, Mullins singled to score Lauren Adkins.
Roane County (12-2) scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the third to trim the deficit to 3-2. Sailor Presley reached on an error with two outs to extend the inning for Rhyan Henslee, who followed with a two-run inside the park home run.
Logan would answer with a run in the top of the fourth when Curry hit a line drive to left field and motored around the bases for an inside park home run to give the Lady Wildcats a 4-2 lead.
Presley added an inside the park home run in the bottom of the fifth with two outs to bring the Yellow Jackets to within one run, 4-3, but Adkins got Henslee to strike out swinging and end the game after five innings.
Presley (11-2) gave up four runs, eight hits, struck out 10 Lady Wildcats and walked one in five innings.
Henslee ended the game with two hits and two RBI and Presley one hit and one RBI for Roane County.
Lauren Adkins had a double and Addison Starr a single for Logan, who will play two games on Tuesday. The first one at 11 a.m. against St. Vincent-St. Marys out of Akron, Ohio and against at 1 p.m. against the Redwomen of Rock Hill (Ohio).
