The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 532 new cases of COVID-19. New cases are nearly half the amount compared to 988 new infection to begin last week.
W.Va. currently has 24,365 active cases of the virus. Active cases are down 977 patients since Friday.
Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,899 West Virginians have succumbed to COVID-19. Four people died in the last 24 hours.
Today’s daily positive infection rate is 8.43%.
W.Va. has administered 166,358 doses of the first round of vaccine. As of press time, 40,258 residents have received both rounds of shots.
