WVOW News

CHARLESTON Governor Jim Justice appointed an interim delegate to serve the rest of the unexpired term of Joe Jeffries in the state house.

Justice appointed Jarred Cannon of Hurricane to the West Virginia House of Delegates 22nd District seat.

“I’d like to thank Governor Justice for his confidence in appointing me to represent the 22nd District in the House of Delegates,” Cannon said. “It’s an incredible honor and I am ready to get to work with the Governor and legislative leadership on day one to help make West Virginia the best place in the country to live, work, and raise a family.”

Cannon was born and raised in West Virginia and is the owner of a West Virginia-based public relations firm, Athena Consulting. A graduate of WVU, Cannon serves on the board of the Ohio-West Virginia Youth Leadership Association and as an organizer and counselor for a conservative youth leadership camp, Camp Lincoln.

Cannon took the oath of office Wednesday.

The 22nd district is comprised of portions of Boone, Lincoln, Logan, and Putnam counties.
