Over 1,000 New Cases of COVID 19 Confirmed in Last 24 Hours


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,070 new cases of COVID-19.


As of 10 o’clock Monday morning, W.Va. currently has 29,257 active cases of coronavirus.


Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,594 West Virginians have succumbed to COVID-19. Twelve people died in the last 24 hours.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 8.77%.


According to the color-coded map released this morning by the state DHHR, 11 counties are in the orange category.


Two counties are gold.


All other counties are red.


W.Va. has administered 92,070 first round doses of vaccine. As of press time, 13,469 residents have received both shots.
