One man from eastern Kentucky was killed and another hospitalized after a boating accident on Douglas Lake in Tennessee.
According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, 65-year-old Billy Martin of Pikeville, KY and 30-year-old Brandon Martin were operating a bass boat early Saturday morning.
Around 9:30 a.m., the bass boat, driven by Billy Martin, collided with a bass boat being operated by 39-year-old Chris Sexton of Corryton, Tenn.
All occupants of both boats were ejected into the water and recovered by fishermen. The fishermen took them all to Anchor Down campground.
Billy Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon Martin was transported to UT Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
No injuries were reported involving the occupants of the boat operated by Sexton.
All were reported to be wearing life jackets.
The incident remains under investigation.
