President Biden To Visit Storm Ravaged Ky. Wednesday

President Biden is scheduled to travel to Kentucky Wednesday.

Tornadoes and storms bombarded at least six states. The worst damage, by far, is the devastated western part of Ky.

Ky. Governor Andy Beshear announced Monday at least 64 were killed by the storms and eighteen of the dead remain unidentified. Ages of the dead range from five months to 86 years.

More than one hundred people are missing.

President Biden signed off on a federal disaster declaration Beshear requested Sunday. The President's visit is to survey the damage first-hand. Biden will visit Mayfield and Dawson Springs following a storm briefing at Fort Campbell, according to the White House.

Beshear declared a state of emergency for the Commonwealth and activated over 180 National Guard and members of the state police.

A tornado touched down in Ky. and ripped through around 200 miles of just the Bluegrass State alone.

Beshear says at least one thousand homes are damaged or destroyed.
