Red Counties Continue to Decrease in W.Va.


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 510 additional cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.


As of 10 o’clock this morning, West Virginia has 20,047 active cases of coronavirus.


Cases number of new infections continue to decline, and deaths from the virus are beginning to stabilize.


Three deaths were reported over the last 24-hours. Since the onset of the outbreak, 2,031 West Virginians have succumbed to coronavirus.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 5.33%.


Today’s county alert map reports 12 counties in the red category. Red zone counties include Boone.


Orange counties include Logan, Mingo, Wayne, Wayne, Wyoming and 22 other counties.


Nine counties are gold, and five counties are yellow.


Lincoln and Summers counties are the only green counties.


W.Va. has administered 195,825 doses of the first round of vaccine. As of 10 o’clock this morning, 70,948 residents have received both rounds of shots.
