LOGAN Logan High School senior Scotty Browning scored his 1,000th career point in the second half of Logan's 77-65 win over Wayne Tuesday night at Wayne High School.
Class AAA No. 8 Logan, who snapped a three-game losing streak, improved to 8-8 overall and 4-3 in Cardinal Conference play, while Wayne dropped to 6-7 and 1-4.
Browning, who missed Logan's last two games after suffering a concussion in the fourth quarter of the Wildcats overtime loss to county rival and Class AA No. 3 Chapmanville on Jan. 13, led all scorers with 31 points to go along with six rebounds and four assets while connecting on 13 of 21 shots from the field. Derrick Browning scored 15 points, Julius Clancy added 10 and Jarron Glick and McCormick Ilderton each scored seven points for the Wildcats.
Zane Adkins finished with 14 points, Isaac Meddings had 12, Dillon May had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Cooper Adkins and Ronnie Staley each had nine points for Wayne.
The Pioneers play at Class A Wahama on Friday. Logan faces Class AAA No. 9 Nitro at Willie Akers Arena Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
