In Lincoln County, Guyan Valley Middle School is closed this week after a student tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
All Guyan Valley Middle School activities will be postponed until further notice.
Two staff members at Kermit PK-8 have tested positive for coronavirus. Mingo County Schools in cooperation with the Mingo County Health Department and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources has recommended the staff members isolate and the students of one affected classroom and other identified close contacts quarantine in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Mingo County Schools are learning remotely this week after the county moved to orange.
Sherman High School students in Boone County will learn remotely today, due to the number of staff in quarantine.
Sandy River Middle School in McDowell County will be closed today due to COVID-19. Today will be a blended learning day for that school.
