State DHHR Updates COVID Numbers For Mon. Nov. 8th



Statewide, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reports 407 additional infections of COVID-19 Monday.


The new cases send the state’s active cases up to 6,318.

The DHHR reported thirty additional deaths attributed to coronavirus. Since the onset of the outbreak, a total of 4,548 Mountain State residents have succumbed to COVID-19.


A total 533 patients are hospitalized for the virus statewide. There are 197patients in intensive care units and 100 of those patients require ventilators.


The percentage of fully vaccinated West Virginians is beginning to rebound from the addition of children five to eleven years of age to the list of eligible recipients of the vaccine. Vaccine administration, as of Monday morning, stands at 54.5% of the eligible population.
