In a hard fought contest against the Lincoln County Panthers, that saw Logan's Garret Williamson hit a go ahead shot with three seconds left, the Wildcats won their first sectional title since 2012 with a final score 46-44.
Lincoln County started the game on an 11-0 run and put the Wildcats down early. Logan was able to battle back and was only down three as Lincoln County was ahead at the half, 24-21.
Logan would take the lead into the fourth quarter behind a 13-2 run throughout the entire third quarter and lead 34-26 to start the last quarter of play.
The game was back and forth through the whole quarter. Williamson hit the go ahead shot as the teams were tied at 44 with three seconds left and the Wildcats secured the victory and the Sectional title.
Logan will be back in action Tuesday night as they host Winfield at Willie Akers Arena for a chance to go to Charleston for the State Boys Basketball Tournament.
Lincoln County will also play Tuesday on the road to Nitro to take on the Wildcats with a trip to states also on the line.
