Thousands Still Without Power In Lincoln And Wayne Co.

Tens of thousands are still without power in Lincoln and Wayne County Friday as a week of severe weather moved through the area.

According to Appalachian Power's website, 5,797 customers are still in the dark in Lincoln County.

In Wayne County, there are still 14,541 outages. That's down from more than 18,000 outages reported at the beginning of the week.

The majority of power outages in West Virginia took place in Cabell County. More than 17,000 customers are still without power in that area.

A statement on Appalachian Power's website says "Appalachian Power continues to have two major storm restoration efforts under way, one in western West Virginia and another in southern West Virginia and southwest Virginia. More than 3,000 workers are now dedicated to restoring power from storm damage in the two states."

Estimated restoration times can be found at appalachianpower.com.
