Two people were arrested after a police chase in Wayne County Sunday evening.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Rick Thompson, members of the road patrol attempted to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen in the Fort Gay area.
The driver of the vehicle fled with one passenger in tow.
The driver crashed after a short pursuit and the suspects fled on foot.
Both were later located in a wooded area and taken into custody.
The driver was identified as Rick Cook of Fort Gay. The passenger was identified as Rosetta Gunter of Moorehead, KY.
Cook is charged with fleeing in a vehicle, receiving or transferring stolen property, fleeing on foot, and destruction of property.
Gunter faces charges of fleeing on foot and is also a fugitive from Kentucky on drug charges.
