Health officials reported Wednesday that active coronavirus cases in West Virginia declined nearly 160, and three additional virus-related deaths have occurred.
West Virginia’s pandemic death total is now just shy of 4,000 and is at 3,998.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed in a news release the deaths of a 46-year-old man from Preston County, an 84-year-old woman from Preston County and a 90-year-old woman from Preston County.
Active cases were at 9,703, down from 9,861 in the previous report. Recoveries were at 242,077.
There were 1,130 new virus cases reported since the last update.
According to the report, active cases in the Coalfields include 144 in Boone County, 138 in Lincoln County, 150 in Logan County, 171 in Mingo County, 223 in Wayne County and 149 in Wyoming County.
