A Wayne County man faces charges after leading police on a chase through two states.
The incident happened Tuesday after police were called out to the Prichard area in connection with a domestic incident.
That’s when officers say 70-year-old Maynard Hay sped off down Big Sandy River and into Lawrence County, KY.
Hay allegedly hit a Louisa Police Department cruiser and then fled back to W.Va.
The chase ended back in the Prichard area when Hay’s vehicle caught on fire.
Hay then reportedly took off on foot, only to be found a short time later hiding in a culvert.
Hay was charged with fleeing in a vehicle, fleeing on foot, obstructing, domestic battery and domestic assault. He is currently housed at the Western Regional Jail on a $20,000 bond.
