BUFFALO Four Wildcats scored in double figures as Logan overcame a sluggish first half to defeat Buffalo 81-56 Friday night at The Barn.
The second-ranked Wildcats jumped out to an early 15-5 lead before the Bison caught fire knocking down five first quarter 3-pointers to finish the quarter on an 18-7 run to take a 23-22 lead.
Logan closed the first half on a 6-0 run and led 39-38 at halftime and outscored Buffalo 22-6 in the third quarter to take control and pull away from the Bison in the second.
Lucas Lambert led all scorers with 25 points. Lambert had 17 points in the first half for Logan. Gage Green and Ivan Miller each had 14 points and Zayden Sherod 13 for the Wildcats.
Green came off the bench and scored 11 points in the first half as Logan rebounded from its first loss of the season Tuesday night at Wyoming East to improve to 9-1.
Ashner Flanery had 16 of his team-high 23 points in the first half to lead the Bison. Wesley Mallet added 14.
Buffalo (2-6) will travel to Clay County Friday night. Logan returns home to host Class A reigning champion and second ranked Tug Valley Tuesday night at the Willie Akers Arena.
