Chapmanville Police arrested a woman for attempted shoplifting at the Dollar General Wednesday morning.
According to the complaint, Donice Michelle Bennett of Main Hewett Creek Road admitted to not purchasing $32.81 since worth of merchandise.
A check of Bennett’s record turned up two previous convictions for shoplifting in Barboursville three years ago.
According to state code, regardless of merchandise value, third offense shoplifting is a felony. If convicted, Bennett can be fined between $500 and $5,000 and imprisonment from one to ten years.
