WV DHHR Announce Over 700 New Cases of COVID-19



The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 742 new cases of COVID-19.


As of 10 o’clock Friday morning, West Virginia has 8,531 active cases of coronavirus.

Since the onset of the outbreak, 565 West Virginians have succumbed to the virus. Eleven deaths were reported in the last 24-hours.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 4.06%.


According to the state DHHR color-coded map released this morning, several counties in the coalfields are in the orange category. “Orange” is the second most restrictive category.


Orange counties include Logan, Lincoln, Mingo and Wyoming.


Wayne County is gold.


McDowell is yellow.


West Virginia has 31,639 cumulative cases of coronavirus.
