The latest county alert map published by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources has fourteen counties in the red zone including Boone, Lincoln, Mingo and Wyoming counties.
The map measures severity of community spread within each county.
Twentycounties are orange including Logan and Wayne counties.
Six counties are gold including McDowell andMercer.
Eight counties are yellow and seven counties are green.
Red indicates the most severe spread of coronavirus in the state, followed by orange, gold, yellow and green.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 951additional infections of COVID-19 Thursday.
Sixty-threeadditional deaths were reported. Since the beginning of the outbreak, a total of 4,409 West Virginians have succumbed to the virus.
Statewide, hospitalized cases declined by 32 cases from Wednesday’s update. Today, 605 patients are hospitalized for COVID-19. There are 194patients in intensive care units and 115 of those patients require ventilators.
W.Va. has 7,532active cases of COVID-19.
