1 dead & 3 airlifted after head-on collision

LOGAN A head-on collision on WV Route 10 Monday evening in Logan left one passenger dead.


The crash occurred at 6:15 p.m. Monday on Route 10 near the intersection of Hanging Rock Highway and the Boulevard in Logan.


The crash was a result of one vehicle turning south into the northbound lanes of Route 10. The vehicle traveled south in the wrong direction of traffic for approximately ¼ mile when it collided with a the other vehicle, according to a release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.


According to deputies, 71-year-old Deloris Daniels of Cyclone died from injuries sustained in the crash. She was a passenger in the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction driven by Jennifer Rollins of Claremont, N.C. Rollins was airlifted to Charleston Area Medical Center.


The other vehicle was operated by juvenile male from Holden with a juvenile female passenger. Both were also airlifted to CAMC General.


Investigation is still ongoing.
