38 Counties Remain in the Restrictive Red Zone, W.Va. DHHR


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,189 new cases of COVID-19.


As of 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, W.Va. currently has 27,982 active cases of coronavirus.


Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,671 West Virginians have succumbed to COVID-19. Thirty-seven people died in the last 24 hours.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 9.09%.


According to the color-coded map released this morning by the state DHHR, 38 counties are in the restrictive red zone.


Fifteen counties are orange including Logan and Wyoming.


Clay and McDowell counties are gold.


W.Va. has administered 100,696 doses of the first round of vaccine. As of press time, 16,434 residents have received both rounds of shots.
