Akron man received max sentence for intent to deliver fentanyl

LOGAN  An Akron, Ohio man was sentenced in Logan County Circuit Court for charges connected to the delivery of Fentanyl

On Wednesday, February 14, 27-year-old Angere Kerney entered a guilty plea for the charge of possession with the intent to deliver fentanyl. The charge stemmed from a traffic stop conducted the West Virginia State Police last November in the Chapmanville area of US 119.

According to the criminal complaint, a probable cause search turned up a half pound of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine separated into multiple plastic bags.

According to a press release from the Logan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Prosecutor David Wandling requested the maximum allowable sentence of no less than three and no more than fifteen years in prison.

Judge Josh Butcher adopted the state’s position and sentenced Kerney to the maximum sentence.
