Bars, restaurants and retail stores can return to full capacity in W.Va.

W.Va. Governor Jim Justice announced restaurants and bars may return to full seating capacities. The decision is a result of the decline of active COVID-19 case numbers. Justice said the changes will take effect midnight tonight.

Justice stressed the changes to previous mandates are dependent on if social distancing can be maintained.

Bars, restaurants, retail stores and small businesses can return to 100% seating capacity. However, large groups are prohibited from congregating at entrances to bars and restaurants.

The indoor mask mandate remains in effect.

“I encourage everyone, everyone there to have some sense and absolutely try at all times to keep your mask on,” Justice said.

Museums and fitness centers can go back to 100% capacity.

Travel sports teams can play statewide only if the county isn’t red on the county alert map.

Public gatherings have now been increased to 100.
