INSTITUTE All five starters scored in double figures as South Charleston secured its 11th win of the season with a 72-55 win over Class AAA No. 10 Logan in the 2024 Par Mar Shootout at the Big House at West Virginia State’s Walker Convocation Center.
Roman Kellum led the way with a game-high 18 points on 9 of 9 shooting for the Black Eagles (11-7). Kellum finished with a double-double adding a game-high 10 rebounds.
Deshad Williams added 17 points, Elijah Martin had 15 and Dazon Reid and Zane Saunders each finished with 10 points for the Black Eagles.
South Charleston shot 58% from the field and was 8 of 14 (57.1%) from 3-point range.
Julius Clancy’s 3-pointer with 2:51 to play before halftime tied the score at 23. South Charleston responded with a 13-0 run to end the half as the Black Eagles led 36-23 at halftime.
South Charleston’s lead reached 23 in the fourth quarter despite Logan’s 9 of 14 shooting from 3-point range.
Matt Hatfield led Logan with 15 points and Cole Blankenship had 12 for the Wildcats, who fell to 8-8 with the loss.
