A shooting death in Boone County is believed to have originated from an argument over a dog.
West Virginia State Police say the shooting occurred at a residence in Nellis Wednesday.
William Kinder, a 24-year-old resident of Nellis, is charged with murder. The victim is Kinder’s 54-year-old father, Eric Kinder.
State Police Sgt. Charles Sutphin told WV Metro News the victim and his mother were originally arguing over a mess a dog made in the house. The argument devolved to the point of a shooting.
The younger Kinder is charged with first-degree murder.
Sutphin said there is history of domestic violence in the family. He said the investigation is still ongoing.
