Chapmanville Middle School wins Black Diamond Conference

CHAPMANVILLE Jaxston Ellison had three touchdowns and Jacob Maynard ran for one as Chapmanville Middle School defeated Oceana Middle School 28-6 last Thursday in the championship game of the Black Diamond Conference.


Ellison scored on runs of 8 and 11 yards in the first half and Maynard scored a 26-yard run as Chapmanville Middle (8-1) jumped out to a 22-0 halftime lead.


The score remained that way until the fourth quarter when Ellison returned an interception 102 yards for a third touchdown to put the Tigers up 28-0 with 1:44 to play.


Oceana got on the board as time expired in the fourth when Cooper Hatfield scored on a 1-yard run for the Indians only touchdown.


Dakota Dalton had two interceptions for Chapmanville, whose only loss was a 22-8 setback to county rival Logan Middle School on Sept. 21.
