Chapmanville trio combines on three inning no hitter in 18-0 win over Sandy River Little League

LOGAN Ryder Mendez, Hunter Farley and L.J. Copley combined on a three inning no-hitter and Chapmanville Little League made quick work of Sandy River, 18-0, in three innings in the West Virginia District 2 Major Little League Baseball Tournament Saturday afternoon at the Chief Logan Recreational Center.
Mendez started the game for Chapmanville issuing a leadoff walk to Sandy River’s Chase Blair before striking out the next three hitters. Farrell struck out two in a perfect inning of relief and Copley fanned two hitters in one inning.
Chapmanville will face Tug Valley, who upset Madison 5-3, at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon while Sandy River will face Madison in an elimination game at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
Chapmanville scored 11 runs on eight hits in the first inning and added seven additional runs in the second inning on four hits.
Grady Lambert was a perfect 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a triple, three runs and five RBIs while Chase Blankenship was 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI and Hunter Farley had one hit, drove in two runs and scored twice.
Luke Berry and Ryan Farley each had one hit and one RBI and Paxton Sargent and Kayne Stapleton each scored two runs and drove in one.
Ethan Akers, Copley, Cole Deskins, and Mendez each had one hit for Chapmanville.
Connor Kennedy started on the mound for Sandy River and allowed six runs on six hits in 1/3 inning.
